Chamonix - France

So after Turkey I immediately trekked off to Chamonix the next weekend in the hope to find the last of the season snow and use my new boots. Well when I arrived unfortunately all the stores had already changed to summer sports so no luck in hiring gear. Then I went to the lifts and saw a few boarders heading up - with picks and ropes - a little too advanced for me I think. So what else could I do? Oh that's right. Ben who I met in Turkey is a base jumper and gave me the name of a dude who paraglides in Chamonix - I could do that! So I call him up but he is holidaying in Spain so he calls his friend and off I go. It was a very exhilerating feeling running off the edge of a cliff. I remember him saying in his very french accent ' Just keep running, and when there is no more ground just keep running' and so I did. It was a magnificent view up there but didn't take photos's as it would be me who drops the camera. So I did a bit of floating around, a bit of steering and then we landed and it was over. But very exhilerating at the beginning.
So then I checked out this very French resort and took some piccy's before heading back to the airport and back to sunny, hot Newcastle!!!!! (NOT!)
